Alegria Flamenco Malta is Malta’s only dance school that specialises in Flamenco Dance.
Teachers of Alegria have all lived and studied with great Flamenco Maestros in Jerez de la Frontera and Seville, Spain. Individual attention is given to each student.
Classes consist of Open Technique and Choreography classes covering a vast number of Palos (type of dance) with a thorough understanding of the cante (song) and compas (rhythm). Alegria also follows a syllabus system through Alianza Flamenco, giving beginners a solid foundation in all aspects of Flamenco, with an option to be assessed on an international level. Various levels are available for all classes. Dancers from Alegria Flamenco Malta may also benefit from Awards and Scholarships and may have the opportunity to join the Alegria Dance Company.
Classes are held on a weekly basis on Wednesdays at BS Buildings, Triq il-Mosta, Lija (next door to JYSK shop) and there is ample parking available. Specialised intensive 3 day courses in Bulerias de Jerez are held on a regular basis. These classes are accompanied by a guitarist.
